Different types of finishing offers different degrees of protection against corrosion. For Mild Steel, zinc are commonly galvanized on the surface to deter corrosion. The various galvanizing process are:
• Electro Galvanizing (recommended for indoor)
• Pre-Zinc Galvanizing (ASTMA-1233)
• Hot Dipped Galvanizing after manufacture (ASTMA-1233)
Hot Dipped Galvanizing offers the best bond and protection against corrosion than other galvanizing methods.
Stainless Steel also has various finishing, typically either glossy or matte. Scratches from installation are less noticeable on matte finish. Matte are common to make any surface scratches less noticeable.
